On the 31st of August 2016 NZX released their draft proposal review of their code of conduct for comment. Included in this review are recommendations regarding remuneration for CEOs and directors, specifically regarding increased transparency and disclosure. At Strategic Pay we endorse the draft regulations concerning release of CEO remuneration data as we believe it will:
- Lead to better analysis and understanding of pay levels of CEO remuneration levels for listed companies
- Bring New Zealand in line with overseas best practice hence enhancing our reputation internationally
- Likely in time lead to non-listed organisations adopting similar practices which again will increase transparency generally
